Dr. Derek Mahony is a world-renowned Specialist Orthodontist based in New South Wales, Australia. With over 30 years of experience in clinical practice, education, and research, Dr. Mahony is widely regarded as a pioneer in airway-focused orthodontics and dentofacial orthopaedics. His academic credentials span multiple international institutions, including advanced qualifications in orthodontics, dentofacial orthopaedics, clear aligner therapy, and dental sleep medicine. In addition to his clinical roles, he holds fellowships in numerous prestigious dental academies and colleges worldwide.

Dr. Mahony has lectured in over 60 countries and presented more than 400 lectures on topics such as the aetiology of malocclusion, facial growth guidance, and the diagnosis and treatment of obstructive airway disorders like snoring and sleep apnoea. He currently serves as CEO and Senior Orthodontist at Full Face Orthodontics, while also holding editorial and academic positions—including Visiting Professor of Orthodontics at the City of London Dental School and editorial board member for five international journals. His ongoing research into the relationship between maxillary arch development, nasal breathing, and systemic health continues to influence clinical practice globally.
