Mehdi is a board-certified periodontist and the founder of Vision Periodontics – Centre for Advanced Periodontics & Implant Dentistry in South Perth, Western Australia. He is also a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia (UWA), where he supervises postgraduate residents in Periodontology within the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry program. With extensive experience in complex periodontal and implant surgeries, Mehdi has a particular focus on advanced implant and bone grafting procedures, regenerative and mucogingival surgeries, and peri-implant tissue management. Since 2008, he has delivered over 120 national and international presentations as a keynote lecturer and key opinion leader and has co-authored textbooks in implant dentistry. His clinical work is strongly informed by ongoing involvement in research within clinical implant dentistry. Mehdi currently serves as the Federal President of the Australian Society of Periodontology (2024–2026), and remains dedicated to advancing education, clinical excellence, and collaboration within his specialty.
