Melinda completed her undergraduate dental training at the University of Western Australia in 1995, specialist training in periodontics in Melbourne (2006), was awarded the ANZAP medallion in 2007 and gained fellowship to the Academy of Dentistry International in 2017 and ITI in 2023. Melinda has been a periodontist for 16 years working in private practice in Moonee Ponds, is the consultant periodontist at the Alfred Hospital, a clinical supervisor for the postgrad periodontics students at the University of Melbourne and is academic lead for periodontics at La Trobe University, Bendigo. She also runs an ITI study group in Melbourne called the Women’s Implantology Network (WIN), founded to support women in dental implantology.
Being a periodontist treating public hospital and private patients has provided valuable opportunities to explore interests in the rehabilitation of medically compromised patients, ONJ and periodontitis, implant aesthetics and the management of peri-implantitis. Melinda is also a proud mum to two primary school boys.
